Saturday, June 15th from 10 am – noon.
Cultivating Tristana Exploring Yoga’s Internal Practice of Bandhas, Breath and Dristi
Void of this internal focus, this invisible practice, one experiences Ashtanga yoga as mere bending, mere calisthenics, absent of healing energy and spiritual meaning. By fusing the breath, bandhas and dristi, we quiet the mind and achieve the deeper meditative and life renewing aspects of the Ashtanga practice. We find peace within ourselves. “Behind the strength of the body, is an energy, which is spiritual and which keeps us alive.” – Sri K. Patthabi Jois
The 2hr. class will cover: Bandha Anatomy/Physiology- Developing Breath Awareness- Steadying the Mind – Developing Equanimity- Introduction to the Four Purifications (Pranayama*) as tool for Tristana development- 5 minute Tristana/Bandha practice- Incorporating Tristana into Asana – practice and worksheet
This workshop is for all yoga students regardless of the style of yoga you practice. Cost $50. 2 hours of CE for yoga teachers through Yoga Alliance.
